It has been a fantastic start to Mobile World Congress 2017 for the Cisco Jasper team. On day one, the Cisco Jasper Control Center IoT platform won the 2017 GMA Glomo award for Best Mobile Innovation for Automotive!

This year, MWC takes place at the Fira Gran Via Innovation Centre in Barcelona, where Cisco Jasper is showcasing Control Center, and the latest advances in automated connectivity management. The platform enables companies across every industry to manage connected devices anywhere in the world, ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable IoT services at the lowest cost.

At the award ceremony, Theresa Bui, Director of IoT Strategy for Cisco Jasper, was honored to accept the award on behalf of the team. She shared her thoughts on the business potential of connected cars, including how they can add more value to existing services and develop better car management systems. Theresa also discussed the features she’s excited to see in tomorrow’s cars – some of which are already being tested by select manufacturers – such as the ability to inform the driver about free parking spots when they reach their destination.

“Autonomous driving is going to grow leaps and bounds,” noted Jahangir Mohammed, General Manager of IoT Cloud at Cisco Jasper, adding, “I don’t think you’re going to find an unconnected car in the next three, four years.” Jahangir also discussed the plethora of exciting technologies we can expect to find inside our cars in the near future. “It’s not just about driving; it’s about having a good time,” concluded Mohammed.

Meanwhile at the Cisco Jasper booth, visitors explored demos of the company’s most recent technology, and immersive smart city experiences spotlighting customer success stories such as NIU’s smart scooters and ChargePoint electric vehicle charging stations.

Throughout the day, numerous other partners visited the booth, such as Cliff Konsbruck, Managing Director at POST Luxembourg who has been working with Cisco Jasper for the last nine years. Cliff discussed his company’s latest projects with Peugeot Citroen – all made possible by Control Center.

We invite you to join the conversation at @Cisco_Jasper and visit our Cisco Jasper MWC website.
