When Jasper became part of Cisco a little over a year ago, I said that our combined strengths would result in new, innovative solutions that would accelerate IoT success for our customers and partners.

This morning at Cisco Live, in front of nearly 30,000 Cisco customers, we made good on that promise, launching the most substantial evolution of our connectivity management platform ever – Control Center 7.0.

This version of the platform gives our global service provider partners, and companies across all industries, unmatched capabilities, greater flexibility and an easy path for growth as their IoT businesses scale.

Applying key insights from the more than 11,000 enterprises using Control Center today, we focused on the three key areas that would remove barriers to IoT implementation and help more companies move from concept to real business outcomes.

First, we have enabled a new tier of the platform – Control Center Advanced – designed to meet the needs of customers with more sophisticated deployments.

We’ve also introduced our first two Premium Services, compatible with Control Center, to enable customers to solve for previously unmet IoT business needs – specifically around the security and monetization of IoT.

And finally, we’ve extended Control Center’s capabilities to low power devices via support for multiple LPWAN technologies, including NB-IoT and LTE-M.

Control Center 7.0 is also the first version of the IoT platform to integrate multiple Cisco technologies, combining the power of Cisco’s portfolio with the world’s leading IoT connectivity management platform. Together, we’re helping solve the biggest challenges companies face in IoT with:

  • Multi-layer security that expands on Control Center’s existing security capabilities to provide new security controls including closed user groups, two-factor authentication, whitelisting capabilities and more.
  • Collaboration capabilities through integration with Cisco Spark, which gives users the ability to easily collaborate on issues with connected devices, enabling them to lower resolution time and manage costs.
  • Enhanced analytics provides new reports on historical trends of device behavior and usage, enabling users to take action on issues that impact performance, costs and security.
  • Support for low power devices, as Control Center 7.0 becomes the first commercially available IoT platform that supports the management of IoT devices across cellular, NB-IoT and LTE-M networks to accommodate a wide range of use cases.

We are extending Control Center 7.0 to our 50+ service provider partners globally, and today AT&T has integrated these additional capabilities to help their customers meet their IoT needs. For AT&T, the platform will be called AT&T Control Center – Advanced, and will be paired with additional premium services. Read more about AT&T’s implementation of Control Center 7.0 in their blog post.

We know that IoT success takes a village. Together with AT&T and our technology partners, Control Center 7.0 not only provides you the most flexible path to IoT results – regardless of where you’re at in your IoT journey – but also gives you the assurance of an entire IoT ecosystem that will help ensure your success every step of the way.
